Built on my father's name
Family owned. My father Gumer began his career in landscaping working alongside George at the Cutting Edge in Palatine two decades ago. I started working alongside him at just 12 years old, helping out on side jobs on the weekends while he was still with the Cutting Edge.
Everything changed when my father was gravely injured in 2022 and unable to work for the year. Up until then, we were still taking on side jobs together on weekends, and I had a spot waiting for me at college. But walking away just didn't sit right in my heart, so I stepped up for my family. I chose to continue what we'd started, because he never gave up on us. It wasn't easy carrying that weight on my own, but even when he was on the wheelchair, he never stopped guiding me through the work. I admire his work ethic, and that's why I see it as my duty to carry on what we built together.
I have faith that God will continue to give us grace through our hard work and dedication, and I will never give up on my family, just as he never gave up on his. I established Gumers Landscaping in 2024, and I take pride in carrying my father's legacy forward with hard work and integrity. I'm grateful for every client who gives us the opportunity to work with them and deliver results they can be proud of — we strive to be the best in the business when it comes to customer service.
